Anyone able to tell me what wireless card does it come with as standard? Is it intel or some other manufacturer? Is it decent? Thanks

I believe it's the atheros, which is fine on G networks but terrible on N networks. So it has been said, anways. I've got mine running peachy perfect, no latency spikes or anything... both N and G (home and work) ... so ...

Thanks - that's a relief, as I am not too keen on fiddling around with the innards of a laptop to change wifi cards :D (Also I am not too worried about operating In N mode).

This will be the first time I will be using Windows 7 - how does networking (Land and Wireless) compare with Vista and XP?

If you can eat with a knife and fork, you can change a wireless card. If you can use a USB key, you can change a wireless card.

Often I tell people, that if they can hold a screwdriver without putting their eye out (or someone else's), then they can likely change it. Heck, if you can hold a screwdriver and only take out a single eye (but not both), you can change a wifi card. There are 2 screws to the bottom panel, 2 screws securing it, and 2 wires attached.

If you can use a screwdriver, and unplug a wire that isn't really plugged in (you'll understand, they're not even really attached, just touching) ... and reverse the process, you can change a wifi card.

It's very similar to making toast. If you can operate a toaster - if you can run the toaster through a full cycle (burnt or not!) - you can change a wifi card in the G73.

But no, I've had no problems, and networking is about the same as vista.

Edit: Heck, if you can figure out how to post in this forum, you're WAY beyond the skill level required to change a wifi card.
