Looking for good quality, reasonable price laptop to run battlefield 3. The G74SX seems to fit. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

based on how the BETA performed the G74 should be able to handle the game well at med-high.

Is there a better option? I'd like to run at ultra setting, if possible.

    Fixed.

Go for a M17X with a crossfire of 6990 or 570-580 if you want to. Based on the beta ( i repeat , based on the beta ) , you can play the game on low.

Sure , you can play it on high , but i still wonder how can people accept to play @ 30FPS on 32players and 25fps on 64 player ... Even on low on 64player map , the framerate was awefull , and you have to overclock to have dencent outside - good inside perf.

One advice , if you want to play games that aren't even come out on ultra , go for a 3000$ laptop at least. Else , go for a desktop. Laptop , as powerfull as they are , aren't powerfull enough for ultra settings on games that aren't out yet ( and still , games like BF3 / Metro / Crysis 2 can't be play on ultra with decent multiplayer framerate )

Clevo is your next best choice with the 6990m graphics.

Yeah i said alienware , but you have other options.

Just found ( personnal ) that a laptop should be portable. Portable means you get it outisde , where people can see it. So , if other can see it , it must be great to see. Other laptops than Alienware aren't great to watch xD
