I've had my ASUS G73JH-TZ008V for just over a month and its a nice bit of kit but i keep having windows lockup. First 2 weeks i had it windows 7 froze with nothing moving on desktop and i had 2 hold the power button to power down but since last night it seems to lockup every half hour or so. Any ideas on what may be wrong or a fix.

Thats maybe because of the "Creative" sound driver. That's happens almost to everyone just before they removed the creative driver. I would suggest you to remove it or do clean install on your laptop. Never install again the "creative" driver.

I have already uninstalled that driver and installed the latest realtek driver.

What firmware and/or drivers have you changed from stock? -
I had lock ups all the time... normally the happened when I was doing something important had not saved ;-) does yours lock up at the login screen?
Anyway, there is a thread in sticky about all the solutions for G73, go to problem XIII and do that.
It worked for me for about a month.... then the lock ups started again and I could not fix them until I did a full clean install. Now it's been a week without lock ups and I'm sure I won't have any.
Good luck!
