    Hi,
I have Wireless Console 3.0.18 installed on my G53JW and facing off a rare_and_weird problem. Here it is:

As you know Wireless Console application runs at startup and controls bluetooth and WLAN card and WLAN Led on the notebook. The problem is, at some logons, if you logon too fast, maybe if you enter your password and hit enter quickly just after logon screen comes up, sometimes, Wireless LED seems OFF and the previous (existing) Bluetooth/WLAN on/off settings (enable/disable) aren't applied though Wireless Console icon seems on the system tray.

The weird thing is that, though WLAN LED is OFF, i can connect the internet fine! ..which means actually the network connection is established whereas WLAN Led is off due to lack of Wireless Console functionality.

Has anybody seen this? Being obliged to Wireless Console is too bad for Asus users, it doesn't work stable at some logons.

    Thanks!

I'd say its some kind of bug. Unless ASUS actively look into this matter (which they won't), this bug will likely to be here for a while.

The bad thing is that there's NO information whether 3.0.19 solves that issue because it very rarely happens, especially when you logon too fast. If you wait for a while at logon screen and let base services load in the background, then enter your password, hit enter, the problem doesn't come up, Wifi LED lights up as expected.

I saw lots of Asus design/engineering flaws, that was one of the funniest so far.

^^^ ARe you using ASUS fast boot by any chance? I was advised early on not to use it.

Are you running a 'fresh' install of Windows or the Factory image?

I'm using Factory image. I'm NOT using Asus Fastboot. It rarely happens. Actually its a big design flaw of Asus, here is why:

    - Wi-fi / Bluetooth adapters must have hard switch. OK, granted, if you're not putting hard switch, you're ready to have that kind of "silly" problems because of lack of software quality (WC3).

    - It must be enabled and controlled from BIOS if you're not putting hard switch. The WLAN led enabled just after Windows loads up, but not everybody using Windows!

So, try with a fast logon (either disable password protection or enter your password just after (immediately) windows logon screen comes up), and if your Windows isn't password-protected, then it can still happen to any of G53/73 owner.
