Thank you for the person whom did give their advice on my other post. But my
the laptop is my wife's and she is bugging me to upgrade the CPU and I would like to know for sure if this is possible...

Anyone ever put this CPU in the ASUS G50VT laptop and have it work fine? It uses Socket P like the proc that is in it now. Will the processor below work in it? Any suggestions?

For the VT the following is the official specifications of upgradeable CPU's.

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9600/T9400/P8600/P8400/P7350 : 2.8 GHz - 2.0 GHz, 1066MHz, 6/3MB On-Die L2 Cache

Unless you can find another post of someone who has attempted it ( I could not ) I dont think the VT model can handle the one you mentioned.

Treat your wife to an I7 she will most certainly love you for it and should improve relations as well ;) win win!
