Would you say that two dead pixels should warrant bothering with sending this thing back?

    Hello everyone,

So lately, me and the dead pixels have been chillin' together, just me, gaming, and the dead pixels. But I've got to say, they're getting pretty annoying. Some of them seem to be inviting their bros in for a stay, and they're kinda getting on my nerves, so I think I need to get rid of them.

So, I've created a poll for this - in an instance where you have two dead pixels in a screen 17.3" of size, and 1600 x 900 in resolution, and the pixels' locations were the middle left and top middle left of the screen, would you send off your machine for 6 weeks for a screen replacement, possibly risking much worse damage then two dead pixels?

If I keep it like this, it gives me a good reason to upgrade to a 1920 x 1080 screen.

If I remember correctly from a thread here a while ago, and LCD replacement done by yourself is pretty straightforward and all you have to do is wait for the screen to arrive.

Definitely agreeing with the risk of getting it damaged worse over two dead pixels.

    You need a third option.

Ordering a screen by yourself and installing it.

Personally, i'd order a nice matte LCD panel, either 900p or 1080p depending on if you prefer screen real estate or better framerate. No matter what, i'd get rid of those dead pixels.

I noticed you have a RBBX05, did you get it from Best Buy? If so, you can take it back to the store you bought it from to get it repaired. No need to send it to an Asus repair facility. I had dead pixels on my screen, 1600x 900, and Best Buy repaired it in less than a week, and they upgraded it to a 1920x1080 at not charge.

Mine now has yet another dead pixel, and I plan on bringing it back before my warranty runs out.

Yup, get a screen that's guaranteed dead-pixel free and swap it yourself.
