Just wondering what all of you guys out there are using with your G73Jh for gaming
![]()
I'm waiting for my B1 to be shipped but
for mouse:
Razer Mamba
Headsets: Siberia V1 (soon getting V2)
WHAT ABOUT YOU?![]()
Edit: I'm looking for a mouse pad to go with my Razer Mamba, suggestions?
-
Headset: Razer Megalodon or Astro A40. Usually the A40 because my desktop uses my Megalodon.
Mouse: Currently using a Razer Orochi and a Razer Destructor mat. Mamba is hooked up to my desktop.
I'd vouch for the Destructor with the Mamba, best feel and control/speed surface I've found for use with the Mamba and Orochi. -
Headset: still pending
Mouse: Logitech G700
Mousepad: Roccat Sota Granular Black -
Thanks for the suggestion, will look into those tomorrow when i go pick up my V2's.
These Destructor pads do make a difference? -
I personally prefer the Destructor pad over any other surface but that's just me. It's a much smoother surface than just using say your desk or a generic pad and it's a recommended pad for the Mamba/Orochi.
-
Wow... lot of Razer fans in here huh??
Mine goes like this..
Mouse: Razer Deathadder
Headset: Razer Megalodon
Pad: Razer Goliathus (Control edition)
PS: Not a Razer fanboy... just happen to like some of their products.. -
Logitech Performance MX + Plantronics GameCom 777. Dont use a pad, never liked em and theres no need with the darkfield laser, even if im working on a glass surface
.
Prefer a mouse that fits in my hand than one with 5600dpi which i dont even need for my work and gaming. Headset is the only one i could find that was big enough not to hurt my ears and has pretty decent sound. -
Headset: Shure SRH 440
Mouse: Razer Orochi
Pad: Ratpadz XT
Gamepad: Wireless Xbox 360 controller + Receiver (so that I can use it w/my 360 as well)
My gaming setup is for on the go. The Shures fold up nicely but have great punch, the Orochi is nice and small but still great for gaming, and the Ratpadz XT is nice and stiff for playing on the couch or the bed at the hotel if they don't have a desk. I've had it for years now and it looks just as good as it did the first day I got it. -
Use the trusty LogiTech MX518 and will continue to do so as long as Logitech makes these. Audio Technica AD900 headphones with some logitech USB microphone. And I use the Steel QcK mass pad. I will likely never use wireless mouse as long as wired USB gaming mice continue to be made.

Stock Speakers...
Razer Deathadder
Random Belkin Pad
I'm thinking I need to head down to Futureshop. That is, when I get my damn laptop back. -
wireless mobile mouse 6000
Laptop speakers or G35 headset -
Not here yet but looking to probably use the mouse it comes with along with either the on board speakers, or my Creative Fatality headphones.
Also have a Razor Lycosa or Tarantula keyboard if I ever felt the need to desktopize the sucker. -
Monitor - I usually connect my G73 to my TV when I game. I have a 46'' 1080p Samsung LCD HDTV. The picture is amazing and kicks the crap out of my G73 screen.
Sound/Headset - I use a Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 when I actually use a mic. Cheap headset with a mic, does the job, decent sound, good mic, pretty much what I need. But the majority of the time when I game, I have my G73 connected to my surround sound system. I have an Onkyo TX-SR606 7.1 Surround Sound receiver with all gaming consoles connected to it and Energy 5.1 Speaker setup. Fantastic sound in games.
Mouse - Logitech G9. I bought this guy over 2 years ago I think and still kicking it strong, it's a fantastic mouse.
Gamepad - Xbox 360 Controller/Dualshock 3. Truth be told, I prefer the controller for gaming in general so I generally use my 360 or DS3 when I'm playing. Only exception is online competitive play.
That's my gaming setup, playing with style. -

EDIT: Sony MDR-SA5000's here tomorrow -
Headset- G35 (loving them, thinking about another setup though so I can have 2 headsets set up at once,
Mouse- which ever mouse came with the G73, works fine for me, I also have a rocketfish bluetooth mouse , it feels a bit slow I tend not to use it for gaming, I have a usb extender for my G73mouse.
No mousepad - Like the other member said above not needed when the mouse is darkfield, except ill probably get a cheapy just to keep my mouse a bit cleaner.
Keyboard - usually use the keyboard on the lappy but when its docked underneath my tv I use my rocketfish bluetooth keyboard, doesnt seem too bad for lag, it takes a sec to reactivate after not using it for like 5 mins.
Accessory - the G13, its a gaming peripheral, and I love it to bits, even for FPS gaming it works great. It takes a bit to get use to it, but once you have the keys set up to something comfortable for your fingers its amazing. Saving fingers for actions rather then waisting them on movement is awesome, thats the reason I prefer a controller over keyboard but a mouse for aiming, best of both worlds. Ive been thinking about getting the Splitfish Shark, half controller half mouse , but its gotten really bad reviews so im a bit scared, I was thinking maybe modding my own.
Other - PS3 controller, set up blue tooth, for games that play better with a controller. -
Headset: Creative Labs Sound Blaster World of Warcraft USB
Mouse: Logitech G9x
Mousepad: Razer Destructor -
Headset: Plantronics GameCom 777
Speakers: Logitech Z-5500
Mouse: Logitech G500
Mousepad: Roccat Taito
2nd Monitor: Toshiba 37ZV635D -
Headset: Plantronics GameCom 777
Mouse: Saitek Cyborg
Mouse Pad: Dell (plastic mousing surface) -
Headset: Logitech G35
Great fit, Great sound, having the controls for volume etc on the headset instead of running your hand down the wire to find the inline is AWESOME
I was going to get the megaladon my brother has it and I didnt like that it didnt cup your entire ear which meant not noise cancel (although the megaladon is really light) and the Megaladon's controls were a huge brick.
Mouse: Logitech G500
I came from an Orochi and even though it was wireless I missed my old MX510 (really comfortable) when I heard they remade that mouse into a "gaming" series and it was sub 70 bucks I pulled the trigger and havent been happier.
Mouse Pad: I am about to reveal a SECRET MOUSE PAD XTRAC PADS RIPPER XL
SERIOUSLY this pad is CHEAP, AWESOME, and HUGE!!!! I got the Large version (the one linked is XL) and I could cut it in half and have 2 large gaming mousepads...as it sits on my desk Sideways it still hangs off the edge...AWESOME PRODUCT!!! -
Newegg.com - SENNHEISER PC350 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Headset
If you got couple hundred this is a nice headset. It uses the Sennheiser HD550 drivers I believe. And the microphone should be top notch since Sennheiser pretty much invented everything we have to do when it comes to microphones. -
That headset looks comfy...idk if I like 3.5mm anymore though
That headset looks like it weighs nothing too! -
i was playing around with my razer mamba today, they're brand new and i gotta say it takes some time getting used to and i should def pick up a good mouse pad.. dunno, it feels pretty...... weird..
hmmm probably too sensitive for me.. -
-
Sound Card: Onboard for now, Been thinking about an Audiotrak Prodigy Cube
Headset: Sennheiser PC350, Sennheiser HD590
Mouse: Razer Deathadder(modded to shorten cord)
Mouse Surface: Razer Destructor
Also, i scored the Everki Beacon Backpack and its been awesome. -
Giant light headphones, with comfy velour! Beyerdynamic MMX 300. Another German giant in the recording industry.
-
Headset: Sennheiser PC350
Mouse: Razer Naga
pad: Razer kabuto (the thing is slowly degrading.LF a new one.an suggestions?) -
(Bear in mind iv'e only had this thing 2 days so i'm still figuring everything out
)
Audio: The onboard speakers are better than any other laptop iv'e heard so far and seem to work just fine, when it's not appropriate to use the speakers i have a pair of Bose Over-the-ear headphones (i also have a set of X-Mini Max 2's if i want to be really obnoxious)
Mouse: the mouse that came with my Asus is ok, on the fly DPI adjustments and two thumb buttons. I'm considering moving my Logitech G9X to the laptop and using the Asus mouse on my desktop as i have a feeling the desktop is going to become a paperweight fairly soon. i also have a logitech G5 laying around that i might use (logitech mice are bulletproof)
Mouse Surface: whatever is available, i don't have any fancy mouse pads. i have an Allsop gaming pad for my desktop but it's seen better days -

Reviews say the mic is not very good on it anyways. -
Mouse: Use a Logitech MX 518 or Razer Deathadder.
Speakers: Use stock, my desktop is setup on Logitech z5500 so that is option.
Headset: Astro A40 system. -
I went out and picked up a Razer Destructor mouse pad and IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY with my Mamba!
I'm in love with the mouse!
and finally able to pick up my white siberia v2's and they feel real comfy, and its got a decent mic.
now im gaming with style~~~ =P
OH YA thanks for the recommendation for the mouse pad and the software! -

For the hard option, I would advise a 4HD or it's bigger brother, the 9HD.
For the soft option, I would advise the QcK series. -
