I have an ASUS Zenbook UX303UB, i7, 12 gb ram, Windows 10 (64 bit). The laptop has both a GT940M and a HD Graphics 520. Under Device Manager, both Display Adapters indicate that they are working. Under the NVIDIA control panel, in the Manage 3D settings, "High Performance NVIDIA Processor" is set as the Preferred Graphics Processor. I have also looked at DXDIAG and the Graphics 520 card is the only card showing although I understand that the NVIDIA card would not normally show up in DXDIAG.
However, when I look at the icon for NVIDIA in my task bar, I see "GeForce 940M (inactive). When I try to run some games that are not pushing the limit, they either fail to run or run very slowly. Is there a way to tell which graphics card is being used or to verify that the GTX940M is working? I am using the OEM drivers and have not updated drivers.
Thanks for any hints or ideas.
