    Hello all,

I have a spare power supply (a Dell) rated at 230W, but does not have the right tip. If I cut it off and solder one that will fit a GM501GS, will it work? I know that Dell power supplies have a ID pin on the charger itself, and it seems like Asus has a 3rd pin too. Do the Zephyrus laptops want to see this ID to the charger, or do they just want power? Getting a spare genuine charger is quite expensive, this would be an easier and cheaper alternative for me.

I've done this for MSI and older Asus laptops before with success, but not sure with the newer ones after they deviated away from the standard 2.5mm plug.

    Thanks!
