Hi, the adapter pin in my lappy is loose and when the ac adapter plug is plugged into the laptop the only way I can get a connection is pushing down on it, Very hard. Other wise, if I listen closely I hear the "sizzling" of the attempted electric connection. I decided to give up as this isn't a solution and possibly lead to another problem. I was wondering if there was a way to fix this. I bought this g73sw in july of last year. I have no clue if this is under warranty. All my papers are in storage, on the east coast, 3000 miles away.... I was additionally wondering if this can be fixed by me. If there were instructions somewhere how to take apart the lappy? Then i could do the soldering myself. If that is even the problem.... I have years of soldering experience but I am new to laptops. This was my concern with a laptop if I had an internal problem. This will now probably be my first and last laptop ever. I use to recommend Asus over the high premium on Apple products to people who didn't know what to do because I never had a problem. Until now..... so that recommendation just went out the window... This is frustrating as it would be for anybody, because I cant even use the computer. Thanks for any recommendations.

I had that exact same problem recently with my G73SW. I purchased mine August last year and the problem started in July. Since I have no solder skills, I had my local computer shop try to resolder it, but afterwards I still experienced the same issues. So I went and purchased a new AC jack and had them replace it. I did see YouTube videos on how to replace the jack yourself, so there is a possibility that you can replace it yourself. Hope this helps some!
