hello, i live in canada, and i want to find some old gaming laptops: not real old like the g73jh old that may still be instores but be like $900 etc.
    i bought my g73jh-b1 for $700 used.
so im looking for something the same that has at least a 5870m equavilent or better that may be avaialble in some online stores or anything for around $800-900

No responses probably because the G73 is not old the next step up from it is something new. I would not call my 170HM with a 6990M old it is only 1 generation behind and only double the bus width with more shaders than the 5870M which gives it more power.

You can either jump to the latest tech or stay put and upgrade. In your model a 920XM would go in nicely but the biggest upgrade you need is an SSD because those 7200RPM drives are going to be holding you back performance and speed wise.
