Seem a bit high to me.

The left side of your laptop is the CPU. It will heat up when you're doing CPU intensive things. The right side is your GPU and will heat up when gaming.

63% utilization of your GPU and you hit 90C, so imagine what a game like Crysis 2 will do with 99-100% constant usage.

CPU's fine. Time to get a dustin' with air cans or do a repaste.

If those GPU temps where at 100% utilisation I would say they are fine because thats what mine run at extreme burn with furmark but at 60%'s that is a bit high.

CPU is fine GPU might need a repaste if you have already updated the Vbios, cleaned the fans, updated drivers.

updated vbios and drivers, haven't cleaned the fans yet. is it okay to blow compressed air on the fans? won't the dirt go inside more? :p

No it will escape it is more important to make sure there is no blockage.

Although these things can fix the issue you might require a repaste as the thermal compound is a very common problem and once done you can sometimes benefit greatly from the new temps you can knock anywhere from 0-25oC off your max temperature by replacing the standard thermal compound.

Actually, Crysis 2 isn't any more intensive than any other game out there - at least, I get the same temps for crysis 2 as I do for most other games.

As for those temps, they're fine. I've got a long discussion in my signature that discusses what to expect from a repaste, and even after repasting, many people have temps like yours.

Indeed, and don't forget room temperature, if your room temperatures goes very high, like let's say during summer (if you're not from Australia) you may go to 100 degrees easily judging by your current temps.

Yeah, what was the room temperature? If it was 21, then i'd consider it a bit high, but at 24 ^ i'd consider those temps normal. Also you get a 10C difference between dispIO and memIO which isn't bad at all. Clean the vent sand see what you get. I don't think a repaste is a necessity but it couldn't hurt if done right. Personally, i'm only repasting mine because i've started seeing an increase in memIO temps while the dispIO temps stayed the same (before i got 83.5C on dispIO and 93-94 on mem IO on bios 209, now it's up to over 100C for memIO (on 209 as well)).

A temp increase for memIO could be a bad paste job, or just might be a buildup of dust.

    Just saying :p

Besides, a repaste is ... well, not EASY, but it's pretty straightforward.

Ok, so after opening it up to clean the insides of my G73 thoroughly, i noticed something that is probably thermal paste on one side of the heatsink so it's definitely a repaste and ASAP instead of this summer...

Since i live in Canada and shipping rates for a $7 tube of ICD7 is like over 20$ i won't be using that... I'll add my results to the collective summary once everything i need to do it arrives home and the job is finished.

ICD is available from NCIX, often with free shipping.

As for paste coming out of one side of the heatsink, that might be the thermal pads. And excess paste doesn't always contribute to significantly above-average temps - it *can*, but it's probably not a big deal if that's the only problem.

Well, now i'm totally hijacking this thread :p. Anyways, currently running furmark on my G73 and after 5 mins i get 80C DispIO (fine by me) and 100C memIO (20C difference, way more than when i tested the laptop a few months ago) on bios 211. Anyways i will be opening it up completely and if there's no dust, i'll be repasting. Since i'm gonna build a desktop,i went ahead and ordered some paste (AC MX2, found your post about NCIX and ICD a bit late DCx since i get impulsive sometimes ;)).

10mins and at 104, getting close to the thermal shutdown... EDIT: room temp is 21-22C

If i get your repaste temps i'll be happy. If i get chastity's i'll be ecstatic

So thanks in advance to you, chastity and everyone else for their repaste guides.
