I got the bestbuy edition a week ago and I know it has a 460watered down but I only have a 1600x900 screen so I don't care. But it makes pink and green artifacts while playing bad company 2 and it will completely crash while playing said game. It says display driver has stopped responding and then it just restarts but then it gets stuck at the asus logo and never restarts. After like 30 mins it will finnaly restart. It has done this 2 times. It is not overclocked and I only OC'ed it one time for 3dmatk06 and it got 16100 at 1280x1024. And it was a mild overclock at best.(725 core). It has nvidia drivers off asus website and the drivers say there from april 2011. I also bought the 1 year total protection from bestbuy. I've looked in other threads and I got no answers. What should I do? Return and get money back? Buy one with 5870? 460 192 bit? Or update bios and drivers? I was expecting more from a laptop that cost 1200 dollars... at least I got a free xbox. Anyway any help is appreciated. Also im typing from a DROID x so pardon my sentence structure and all that.

Also its a g73s from bestbuy. With sandy bridge i7.

What are the temperatures on the GPU while you are playing?

Do yourself a favour and take that poor excuse for a laptop back.

I personally recommend the 5870m because it gives me nothing but pleasure.

But the 192bit version SW is also a very good route to take. Go through Newegg for $1299.99.

I will check the gpu temps when I get home from work but honestly it doesn't get hot at all it seems. The laptop gets a little warm at the back but not hot so I don't think its overheating but if it is I will take it back asap. I might keep it if its a driver issue and then when its time to upgrade ill just sell it to someone on ebay who doesn't know the difference between 128 bit and 192. ;) also what gpu temps should I be at for gaming?

juggar, Temp will of course will vary with ambient temps, but from what I have read about the model you have you should always be well below 90 C in game.
If you want a good game to test with the following demos :Crysis SP will stress the GPU, also the witcher 2 and Metro 2033. I personally am not into a lot of Stress testing with Fumark, etc. and have avoided OC'ing.
There are many programs to monitor temps, I as many others here like the GPU observer gadget, and HWINFO for more details and the ability to log temps.

try to update your nvidia driver. 275.33 / 267.76 is a good choice (from personal experience)
