    hi there,

i posted a couple of times in the past about heat issues with my 9700m gt ... well i never could solve them (replaced cooling pads, cleaned out the cooler, got arctic silver 5 on cpu and gpu).
I saw many posts from ppl who said they also own this laptop that they play WoW (the main reason i bought this computer) with max settings and get 20-30 fps in 25men raids ... my experience was limited to 5-10 fps (in 10men it ran good), also there was excesive screen tearing, i bearly got my pc to work today as it seemed 2 have overheated again(after 2 min of idle WoW) and even when it cooled down the tearing didnt go away ( Yfrog Image : yfrog.com/1ximg0099cij <-- older SS).

LONG Story SHORT :) ... im tiered of trying to fix this darn gpu... is there anything else (pref better) that i can replace the 9700m GT with ?

thanks in advance for your time and pacience.

Donno if you've been following this thread,
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/446885-asus-g50-260m-swap-procedure-4.html
but according to dobosininja, 9700GT and 9800GS are not interchangeable (different bolt pattern/shape, etc).
Sorry to bum you out, but it looks like you either gotta call Asus for RMA if you still have your warranty, or buy another 9700GT.
But I would just sell the G50v and buy a used G51vx, they are only about $500 on ebay these days. With that you get a GTX 260m, which will be more than twice as powerful as your GT 9700m

This one has ended, but it'll give you a good price reference.

The 9700m is only $140, but if you want to just buy an new G51, I'll buy your G50.
