    asus g60jx wont boot with i7 820qm

    Hey guys i recently bought an i7 820qm processor to upgrade my asus g60jx, i upgraded the BIOS to 208, repasted everything, made sure the new processor was correctly placed, but the laptop wont even turn on, i went back to my old i5 with no issued, any idea what might be wrong? any help would be appreciated.

    Not sure why it's not turning on. But it seems that the processor may not be compatible with the motherboard. I was looking at our support site and actually shows you can put a 720qm with no problems.

    I have read on multiple forums that it is compatible sice it uses the same chipset, socket and wattage as the 720qm, and some claim to have done it succefully, maybe i just received a faulty processor form the ebay seller. Im extremely pissed. any one else have any ideas about what the problem might be?
