The best, i7-3940xm. But you might have heat problems due to the 10 TDP increase over the stock cpu. And then the PSU might not be able to give you enough power.

Maybe the i7-2860QM Processor (8M Cache, turbo up to 3.60 GHz) would be the better

bro i bought 2860 ! Hi, so i have 2670 qm 2.2 ghz and i bought i7-2860QM SR02X 2.5ghz 3.6 turbo boost. I thought and assumed i was going to get little bit more performance out of my laptop but after i teared it down and put the new cpu, I could feel my laptop was working louder and faster than ever. I did bios update, it didnt work. I was getting 160 fps with 2.2 ghz 3.0 and with 2.5 ghz now i was seeing 120 and fps was getting dropped every second. I thought it wasnt suitable for my specs in the laptop so i wanted to put 2.2 back in to see whats gonna happen, after plugging 2.2ghz now i was seeing worse than ever like 90 fps in game.

So what i did wrong I have no idea ? Do i needed to put liquid on cpu or i needed to format my laptop after cpu change or is there a way to add the turbo function, from intel that i dunno...

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLZ :(( my comp restarts when i try shut down i dunno registry files even got messed up , my cpu gets hot no reason too so i m getting 60 90 fps in game, i still have the 2.2 ghz in the laptop

    What are your temperatures like?

What thermal paste did you use when putting in the CPU?

What method did you use to apply it?
