I am repasting my gpu, and i am not sure if i should leave the blue thing on or what, but i think there's still thermal pad kinda thing on my gpu, also im not sure WHERE to apply tp on my gpu so im just going to assume it's in the center, im doing this now as we speak, so just in case i fail, what should i do to fix this?

You should STOP what you are doing.

You should read up on HOW to apply thermal paste and be sure you are doing it right. Don't cook your GPU.

If you fail and run the GPU with a bad application it can overheat and be ruined. Why are you repasting it?

Yes I agree you should stop and make sure you know what you are doing or expect a costly bill.

    This:
    Made me worry. :)

You have not described what model you are using so that makes it difficult to know what the blue is but if they are strips of pad covering the square black modules they will be thermal pads, if it is sticky and gloopy that will be thermal compound I believe only the G73JH had pads the rest JW/SW has thermal paste you must have one or the other covering the Vram as they can burn out as well.

My guide is here, I cover repasting and cleaning etc.

sorry for the lack of info, but thanks for the replies.

my model is g51vx and the blue stuff are probably thermal pad , i removed it since i don't think i should have it when i repaste it with my ac5. I covered the center of the gpu with tp just like the cpu where the heat sink touches it.

I think I have done pretty much what you descirbed, apply tp at the center of the gpu (the small rectangle) and i just tested my laptop on diablo 3 and i am getting WAAAAAAAYYY less max temp than before, so i think i did everything right, but thank you guys for the warning next time I will be careful and be absolutely certain of what im doing before i proceed :)
