hey well i have my asus g73jh for about a month now and came with alot of problems such as the GSODs and fixed most of it up by upgrading BIOS 209 to BIOS 211 and vBIOS to Chastity's fix_od2. So far after the BIOS and vBIOS updates ive gotten a BSOD mostly while im playing my game but its weird because it shows the bsod in a smaller resolution and ive only gotten the random freeze like 1 or 2 times and comes with the sound going out of whack. Sorry for the block of text but I would like this resolved. Also I will post some of the info from the crashes.

    THANK YOU

    Examine that minidump file!

BSOD screens are written directly via old school VGA methods, not using the OS display system, so resolution does NOT apply.

now google up those files and see what they're related to. After that, reinstall the relevant files. If they are core windows files, do a fresh install. It may be that you've got spyware, or some corrupted drivers, or a weird interaction between good drivers.

Pretty much everything DX is graphics related, and almost everything goes through the OS kernal exe. So crash is most likely graphics related.

What display adapter driver are you using? Does it happen only on one game or any time?

Can you post your minidump file so we can see other info?

ok i have gotten several bsods and system freezes trying to reply here but here are 2 new bsod info ive gotten. Before I had ati 11.1 driver and i updated to 11.2 drivers and I still get the bsod.

Other info that may help: I have all creative software uninstalled and cleaned out, im using AVG AV, updated bios 211 and vbios to chastity's fixod_2, realtek 2.57 and 2.55 hdmi.

I believe that by updating my bios and vbios i can use the latest ati drivers but Im guessing I need to go back to the stock asus drivers?

    Thank you

these are recent BSODs ive gotten right after desktop startup or a little longer when idle or just trying to surf the web. So yeah you guys get the picture now, its just constant BSODs but when i leave my laptop on for a while and if it doesnt get any bsod then its fine for a long while. Should I just reinstall the OS or what other solutions are there?

Without those dmp files it's harder to get an idea what's causing the BSODs...

Getting the same problem with my G73... Usually I get these "hard locks" without the chance to even see the BSOD, but today it finally crashed and displayed a BSOD, from which I was able to get the following info:

I'm using ATI 10.11 with the modded vBios (the "official" one from Asus), and the rest of my drivers are up-to-date. Interestingly, I hadn't been experiencing these types of crashes (hard locks, as described by the OP) since the old problem with the Creative drivers, which I fixed back then.

The only things I've installed since this started happening are: 1) Newest Seagate HDD firmware 2) latest Synaptics driver 3) latest ATK drivers (all from Chastity's driver reference post at G73 Series Driver and Application Reference )

Anyone able to help me debug this problem? If so, just tell me what to do and post... Any help would be really appreciated!
