Why? why not just get a mouse or external trackpad.

you could pop the button cover off and replace the buttons with something custom, it would be a fair effort but I could see the benefit here, the trackpad buttons on the g73 are complete balls... I use a mouse most of the time though so it's not a big deal for me.

Is it really tha annoying that you have to replace it?

Get a mouse that you can use when a trackpad is useless...

hmmm, that would just make 2 pieces of the same annoying button though...

I don't have an issue with it being 1 piece of plastic, I just wish they hadn't made it so un-naturally hard to press

Some of them must be stiffer than others (nyuk nyuk) cuz I don't find mine that hard to press. I'm guessing though that there's a rocker/solid piece in the center that acts as a fulcrum point and that some people are pressing too close to the center.

Any way you look at it the touchpad buttons are a fail... Not to mention you cant even use the touchpad if you dont want your keyboard missing keystrokes. Wheres that fix we were promised... *sigh*

i already use external mouse for gaming.

but for browsing and normal pc stuff .its kind-a-hard to reach over to the external mouse :)

i have a hp laptop (hdx 16t) and the trackpad(2 buttons) are so soft and easy to press.

Not a big deal but would definitely make life easier.

do we get some wrapers (like touchscreen for normal lcd monitors) so that we can place that over the top.

I just got used to the touchpad's buttons. It doesn't really bother me now.
