The A1 is $1699 MSRP so I'm not surprised. Here's a link for some sites, plus I'm sure the dealer reps here will chime in with offers. :) I got mine at ABT.com for $1699 and free shipping.

I would rather pay a couple dollars more to a great dealer that tests and configures a system expertly, and offers great service, then go for some ultra-cheap dealer that won't be there if any problems occur. ;)

Jmsomoley, eBay used to be a great option to buy things like current laptops, electronics, and other stuff, but the reality is that it is very hard to find true bargains on the site for these types of items.

Used books? Old CD's? Ancient laptops for parts and a plethora of other items? Absolutely!

But laptops, especially the mid to high end gaming rigs, forget it! I am not 100% sure why, either, because one would think that you should be able to save at least 25% to 35% on a used item, particularly since the warranty clock is ticking and its, ya know, used! I was eyeing a great many excellent laptops on eBay over the last few months, and you know what? They are all closing so damned close to full retail price, hell some even right at retail, that I can only conclude that one of two things is happening: Either the people buying off eBay are getting so caught up in the excitement of "bidding" that it's driving all the prices up, or the sellers are nudging the prices up to top dollar with shills in the form of alternate accounts.

Not saying you can't get a god lappy off eBay, particularly from a seller with a hugh feedback rating and numbers, but it's very hard to do, harder than it's worth I would argue. ;)
