Actually, I'll save you the trouble.
Both screens are unrated by the manufacturer, so unfortunately I don't have any hard numbers, but I would suspect they are both around 50-60% color gamut. An article from About.com says that most standard LCD screens range up to 70%. If you're worried about the color gamut I'd suggest grabbing the 95% color gamut matte screen offered for the MSI. -
thank a lot, I will choose msi 16F2 and screems LCD

There is also the clevo p151hm coming standard with a matte screen at 799$.

Prices are actually a bit similar once you take into account that the MSI comes without an operating system - take note of that. If you already own a copy of Windows 7 it is cheaper, but if you need one then it balances out to be pretty even = $1175 for the MSI. Otherwise, the specs are surprisingly identical - except the Asus has a better warranty (accidental coverage, which is pretty important and expensive to buy as an extra, and which MSI does not have) along with a backlit keyboard on the Asus which the MSI lacks.

I order mine from XoticPC.com and I get a really good deal:

Also, did you get the diamond thermal compound as a free upgrade?
I am not sure, but until a few days ago, there was a cheaper CPU offered as default with the 16F2, hence by upgrading to the 2630QM you would get the diamond for free. Or maybe this was available for a different model? I don't remember; I have been checking a few systems so I may be confusing another system with the 16F2... -
How is the quality of the 16F2? good? bad?
-
MSI makes good laptops...But design... IT TERRIBLE, Designer's Nightmare ; )
Build quality is good: ) but imo ASUS is better -
-
I have 16gb RAM, 1.5TB HHD with 4GB SSD, 1080 HD LED Display, 1.5GB GDDR5 Graphic Card, USB 3.0, one of the fastest wireless cards available Intel N6300, second generation processor i7 2630QM for $1461.00, Check prices at least this cost $1800 in other brand. -
I don't care about the second drive much, but I hope the diamond thermal is going down a bit more (though it was suggested that it is not really that necessary). $20-25 should be reasonable. Other good thing about this laptop is that the bluray is just $49 extra rather than $80-ish offered for other models.
I'm waiting for your review -
Here's the pics I promise so you can convince yourself
MSI 16F2 - a set on Flickr
The bare bone needs a Caps Lock and Num Lock lights so you can know if is turned on / off.
Everything else works fine. I hope the pictures are useful for you guys.
