    hi there :)
I have my g73jw connected with an hdmi cable to my tv screen, and I want to close the computers' lid. I changed the power option so the computer does not go to sleep while plugged in if the lid closes.
When I close the lid the computer stays on and 2 minutes later it goes to sleep.
? =O anyone knows how to stop that from happening?
    thanks

try the setting in power settings where it says "choose when the computer goes to sleep" Put it on never when plugged in. That should solve the problem

I assume you are using Windows 7. Go to Power Options > Choose what closing the lid does. There are two options: one for when operating in battery mode; two for when operating with AC power. Make sure When I close the lid option is set to the proper settings for both.

Also if you plan to watch a movie via HDMI, you can always leave the laptop lid open, and have it a black screen. You just need to extend the video to the TV in one of the options.

I have actually already done those things
And the computer is connected to the TV for all of the computer uses, all of the time, not just movies..
Thanks for the effort anyway =)

Try creating a new power scheme, or remove power-4-gear and use one of the standard windows power profiles.
