(posted this in the asus g50v owners lounge, but got no response, so posting a new thread here...)

    Hi All,

Recently I was facing low fps issues in some high end games in my asus g50vt-x1 (best buy model) laptop after having performed very well for last one and a half years. Luckily the problem was resolved after I got my laptop serviced (opened up, cleaned up and removed of all dust in vents etc)

However, in order to avoid the same over heating problem again I have decided to buy a cooling pad / chill pad for the laptop.

I have narrowed down to the following two as they are easily available in my country :-
    1) belkin laptop cooling pad F5L001
    2) Cooler Master NotePal X-Lite Laptop cooling pad

I wanted to know if anyone has used these and if these are suitable for the asus g50vt-x1 especially with respect to size. (if they are too small) since my laptop's screen size is 15.6"

Apart from these if anyone can suggest anything better please let me know as well...

    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Suyash

A cooling pad is a good idea but it's also a band aid. You should clean your computer on a regular basis.

Same here, it brings down my CPU/GPU temp around 10-15C, I have backpanel modified to increase air flow with the cooler though, if you have the original backpanel, you will still see improvement, but might not be as great.
Agreed, no cooler could remedy your heat issue if the inside of your laptop is a dusty place.
