Just got my g751jy and Iwas playing the new world of warcraft expantion and just questing my cpu hit 82 and gpu hit 72, from what I've read cpu should be like 62 and gpu around the same! I'm worries if I'm getting these temps now when I 25 man raid I'll have to turn down the settings which is unacceptable for a 2200$ machine! Possible heat sink issue? And I updates my bios to 204.

for my opinion 72 on gpu is ok. what is your card model?
    what power plan you using?

    on cpu without any load:
i have like 42-45 C with max cooling
    and around 60 with balanced

I've just run both Furmark and Prime95 just now on my BIOS 204 G751JT-CH71, for 15 minutes each.

    GPU max = 65c
    CPU max = 76c

I'd say those are pretty good temps.

It's a little high but what was your cpu/gpu usage level at?

I just ran PRIME95 Small FFT's for 10 mins and got a max of 85c... thats not bad for such a load. Either way the cooling on these laptops rocks.

If you are not running a CPU intensive game, than you can try disabling Turbo boost. For me disabling Turbo boost dropped load CPU temp in games by about 20C.

Well yes slowing down the chips usually does make them run cooler :)

And overclocking them (even if its factory) shortens their lifespan :)

Agreed :) Got this with about 12 mins of small FFT's (prime95) with multiplier at 36x,35x,34x,34x: small fft.CSV - Speedy Share - upload your files here

Though i peaked 93c on the cpu in my modded skyrim with those settings, which resulted in a momentary thermal throttling: skyrim overclock.CSV - Speedy Share - upload your files here

All in all i really like this computer :D

I updated to BIOS 205 and my temps have dropped 5c at load and around 15c at idle, so I guess its now more accurate. :)

That reminds me, I need to get around to modding Skyrim... going to be a huge effort though I bet!

Might have to give it a try. I always ran vanilla skyrim.

You should at least be running the high resolution textures pack. It's free on Steam.

I'll double check, I've re-installed but I believe all my saves were carried over.
