Alright i am looking at getting a laptop that can play crysis II on the highest setting and with 3d graphics. I am currently wondering if crysis II wil run at a decent enough speed for it to be playable on this asus model click link to see http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230102 (has 3gb of vram) Also can anyone tell me what the fps is when they have this setting. Thanks for looking. I am also currently looking at a diff laptop as well but that is made by msi i dont know which one would be the best although the msi doesn't have 3d capabilities here is the msi specs Newegg.com - MSI G Series GT780DXR-095US Notebook Intel Core i7 2630QM(2.00GHz) 17.3" 12GB Memory DDR3 1TB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA Geforce GTX570M GDDR5 (supposed to have gtx 570m with 1.5gb of vram)

The gtx570m will beat any 460/560m at stock, plus it overclocks fairly decent but beside the increased shader count, which are almost doubled compared to 460/560, its the same card. And yes it doesnt offer 3d.
If you really want 3d that bad, go for the g74. Its a beast machine.
The 3gb vram means that the 560 isnt crippled, so its a full 192bit.
Since 3d content needs alot of vram, 3gb is fairly decent for it.
The downside is the screen resolution: at 720p 3d you should be able to stay into 50fps range at extreme with dx11 patch and high res texture pack.
Overclocking the card, since it overclocks good and easily, should boost your performance about 10-20%.
Well you can always hook an external display when you want to game at 1080p if thats the matter.

But still if youre unsure about 3d, go for the MSI with the 570m. And since it supports 3d as well but not with the built in screen, you can always use the hdmi out with a 3d monitor/screen with 3dtvplay.

1920*1080 3D need more than gtx 560m even 3GB, actually for the performance gaming best is 720P " which even in PS3 " but for the PC gamers resolution such a different thing that should be high and high :) I m using G53SW 1366*768 3D and every single details in Ultra and I can play Criysis 2 in 3D without any issue " alraedy finished twice :) " so for the full HD you need more memory " which Kingpinzero explained already " and GPU which capable to draw more polygons. 485M or "580M best "

Twice the vram doesnt help th gtx 560m at all, its a total waste.

The Msi can output 3d content via the hdmi 1.4a out and 3dtvplay.
3d support is available by default with any nvidia gpu starting from series 8.

    Very well.
Although if you want the best 3d laptop you would need to go for 580's in sli
560's are some how considered mid range to some people.
either way you will be fine and the 580's are very over priced.
If you want to stop with the 3D thing and get 6990's in sli which is more than half of 580's(580's=700 to 1000 while 6990s are only 450.)
So the pocket book will be very happy.
Also if you buy 6990's and a laptop with a desktop cpu like this one
Sager NP7282 Custom Laptop (Built on the Clevo X7200)
youll be set until 2013 at least

Alright i have a question for you if i get the dual 560 i will only be able to upgrade the ram to 12 gb instead of 16 gb. In your opinion is this a good hand out?? I get sli but loose 4gb of ram i know its not that much. Also my max is $2000 including warrenty cause i want one. What would you recommend for the best laptop to play video games....???
NOTE: I will be using my laptop for graphic design to and also will be transporting it alot so i want accidental damage protection along with 0 dead pixel garuentee

Alright firstly you only need 8.
more than that id just stupid.
i have never touched more then 3gb on my laptop and thats with music browser open and a game running,
So in that laptops case just stick with 6gb its better for the pocket and you will see no performance increase.
And since your price limit is 2000 are you SURE you want 3D? i can find you a far better laptop for less and will last for a long great time.

2-3 years from now maybe but currently its still a gimmick and not worth it

    Your shopping cart is empty.

It is a really cool thing im sure but there is no point.
It will only be 3d to a extent as well.
Not all of it will be popping out at you.
Also as dragon stated your cart is empty.
You have to copy and paste the specs.

But honestly if you choose to get a 6990 laptop for 1600-1800 its a far better deal and will game for much longer than 560's in sli.
With some overclocking the 6990 can reach the desktop 6870!
Thats crazy and great while the gtx 560 alone is like a gts 450 so 2 is like having them in sli.
I know what i would want. the 1 thats uses less power and is much better bang for your buck.
Plus youll get better battery less heat and better performance because not every game supports sli.

3D does not need any more VRAM than 2D.
3D halves your framerate, so you need a powerful GPU to play games like Crysis in 3D on high settings. Look into Sager with a 3D screen and 580m.

That will work i suppose but keep in mind that card gets 30fps on ultra on crysis 2. If you turn on 3d with this it will be at about 15 which wont be very fun.

Well maybe it will be okay at medium but then whats the point? you know?
I guess its up to you man quality over 3D or 3D over quality you decide.

Hardware varies in quality. Some times people get a card that can be extremely overclocked safely, while other can get one that can barley get off stock

Yes but the 580 can take overclocking better bud.
And its higher clocked and can be pushed much further
but they are the same card pretty much
