I got 3 dead pixels it seems. 1 black dot close to the bottom, one black dot close to the bottom right, and a white dot near the right side. The white dot almost looks like its glowing (all 3 are very minor but I'm noticing it and its annoying).

THIS method works right? "apply pressure." So should I use my fingers?

has anyone ever fixed a dead pixel before?

Don't apply pressure to your LCD, you are more likely to damage it even further. If you have any chance of the pixel coming back to life it will be completely random.

The white dot is a stuck pixel not a dead one. You are better off using a utility that rapidly changes colors to unstick the pixel. I used to recommend jscreenfix but they've since started charging for it. This one is different, but if you set the delay to .5 it might work (move the window with the changing colors to the area of the stuck pixel): http://blog.gwax.com/2009/12/08/unsticking-stuck-lcd-pixels-a-script/

It varies, and it may not work at all, the longer you let it run, the more sure you can be about it either working or not working. :p Bad answer, I know. :p

well, as far as the stuck pixel, I'd say it helped a little. Its less white then it was (more clear) but still visible on a white screen. I'm actually still attempting to blink the lights out of it xD

Dead pixels are dead. Stuck pixels can be worked out. A laptop I got a few years back had a stuck pixel, and I used a combination of gentle rubbing (use a cloth if you're going that route, it spreads the pressure out. While still not perfect or recommended, it can help reduce chance of damage) and color changing. It actually worked for a while, the pixel unstuck, then got stuck again as another color. I decided to live with it, but eventually through use it just permanently unstuck.

yea I won't mess with it. As it is its not annoying. It only shows up with bright colors like white or grey, light blue, light green. and its close to the right side.

guess I'm lucky with the dead pixel as well. Its where my taskbar is at the bottom. But when I'm looking at a full screen video, I just can't help but stare at it. :(

I probably won't bother, but how much is a replacement screen?
