    HI
i was trying to do the KB color mod to my asus G51vx
i thought i shutted the lappy down and strated to remove the kb and unplugging the ribbons from the board and i was shocked that the notebook was on sleep mode then i turned it off by pulling the battery.
when i was done with the mod i put everything as founded and the results was
a non illuminated KB i tried to fix it and re connect ther lights ribbon and i think i just putted a little bit strength on the ribbon and so the ribbon pin bended
i returned it as should be and reinstall again but with no luck.
removed the colored films and tried again with no luck.
any idea if i did fry my illuminated kb?

You might not have fried it but if you have bent the cable to the point that you have made a break in the connection that could have done it.

You might need to get a new cable from AsusParts and replace it.

so the ribbon can be sold from asusparts?
if not is there a way that i can just plug it manually to make always on by connecting to a v5 power source and grounding anywhere.

Seeing as your last attempt to mod it led to this I would stay away from doing anymore :) a couple of ppl have done successful mods but others have been met with failure or worse mobo death. You dont want to short the board or that will be costly.

Asusparts US or EU will sell the part for quite cheap contact them to find out.
