are they worth getting it? i see great deal at micro center for $1500 and was thinking about buying it. it's asus g73jh-x5. it has i7-720, ati 5870hd, 17.3 inch 1920x1080 screen, 8gb ddr3 ram, 640gb 7200rpm hdd, 4x blu-ray driver, 2 mega-pixel web cam. it's awsome deal for $1500 cuz comparable model go for like $1800 online. i amost bought it but then something hit me. wait, if gtx 480 for desktop is out, gtx 480m should be out for laptop pretty soon. so i didn't buy and came back home and googled it. gtx 480m is indeed out and reviews say it's at least 10% faster than 5870 on dx10 and even faster on dx11. so i went xoticpc.com and saw they have np8850 and np9285 equipped with gtx 480m. i can't definitely afford np 9285 but i might be able to afford np8850. my question is, 480m is 100w and it's very big and wouldn't fit on regular laptop but np8850 is like size of regular 17 inch laptop not stationary laptop like np 9285. so how does it run? is there any review up for this model? i doubt there will be gtx 480m equipped laptop coming to local stores or newegg cuz gtx 280m or gtx 285m equipped laptop never came to local store or newegg. instead they had ones with 260m equipped so i am guessing even if i wait a month or two, they will probably release one equipped with 470m or something which i don't know good it is compared to 5870hd. what do u think?![]()

Look at the thread im my sig for a comparison of the Mobility 5870 vs gtx 480m, both tested in a D900F.
Gtx 480m performs no better at anything except heavy tesselation, where even it is too weak. So considering the much higher price, tdp and heat generation its not worth it.
does anyone has np8850 or np9285 equipped with 480m?
