    Hi guys.
I made a stupid mistake during disassembly, even with advice to be carefull with the fragile cable underneath the keyboard(that connects the speakers with the motherboard) I took it out completely from the motherboard.I want to know the exact name of the small component that was on the motherboard so i can find one and solder it onboard again. Have any of you had this problem aswell ? Is it possible to fix it on my own? My g73 is so silent now..

This is sorry news and its a very fragile piece of kit I have taken her apart many times and it still scares me even if I use a tiny flat head it does not feel solid when you remove it.

I guess it depends on what section the socket has broken from the solder can you get access to the connectors? or has it broken at the socket.

You can have a look here for one Asusparts

Is it within warranty? Could RMA it.

The only other option is to use external speakers or just use the built in sub by removing the creative drivers and install Realtek only and select the subwoofer output in the audio options.

Fortunately your headphone jack will still work so you can use that with external speakers. You could try gluing the speaker part back on, if done in the exact right spot, it could still work (but probably not). You could also put the laptop back together, making sure to leave no evidence it was ever opened, and then RMA it if you are still under warranty. Not completely ethical, but I won't blame you for trying (if Asus had property pasted the things correctly to begin with you would have had to disassemble it anyway). Just tell them the speakers quit working and you have no idea why, they'll figure it out (plan on being w/o your laptop for a good 30 days though).

    Good luck, sorry it broke.
