Does the lcd on the g51jx degrade, I have noticed poorer viewing angles then before and could this degradation be caused by vibration to the notebook.

    -Thanks in advance

Not really. I mean everything degrades in life but LCD displays are quite simple devices. Are you sure you aren't just being influenced by other computer monitors? Most laptops today have terrible contrast and viewing angles.

You would likely get 10+ years out of a LCD and even then, the item with the most wear would be the back light and any damage from heat and sunlight. The sun is quite harmful in many ways. Heat can cause the 'liquid" in LCD displays to basically dry out - I've had it happen to a few different devices that I used to leave in the car during the summer months.

None of this has to do with viewing angles, but general functionality.

Well could vibrations create small "cracks' in the screen resulting in liquid crystal exposed to air, drying out the crystals and changing there orientation thus giving a worse viewing angle. just wondering if its a possibility.

    -Thanks again mahtson

no, it wouldn't happen, small "cracks" are just that, cracks, the LCD "juice" will leak and cause streaks/lines in the display though.

no, but the liquid crystals would be exposed to air, changing its orientation, the liquid crystals are all in parallel and when exposed to air and the variation of temperature from that air it will not be parallel hence the change of orientation, theoretical this situation is possible, but I would like to get a second opinion.

    -Thanks in advance

In short, LCD degradation can affect viewing angles, but it's an indirect effect caused by the decrease in contrast due to the changes in color balance, specifically in the blue channel of the panel. It shouldn't have to do with vibrations of the screen, but instead, it's the aging of the phosphorous used in the backlights.

Thanks you for the answer, but my lcd is LED back lite so the phosphorous coating that makes the blue led's white does not deteriorate as quickly.

    -Thanks again
