All i can say is that the performance boost you'll get from CPU may be here depending on the games you play ( for exemple , it's sure that games like Starcraft 2 will be improved ) , but most game will only have a boost when changing GPU ( wich i don't know if it's possible on your laptop )

Don't even know how much ram you can add , but , correct me if i'm wrong , but they are no motherboard that support DDR 2 and DDR3.

By the way , having more than 4GB ram will not really improve game performance , if it's not no perf boost at all.

i play BB3 , Driver 3 , these types of games , mine is ddr2 so i think that i can only upgrade to ddr2. so you think from your experience that upgrading does'nt worth it , i can overclocked it at 2.4 , and by the way my GPU is GTX260 its and amazing card, but my cpu is p7350 2GHZ , thats why iam thinking of upgrading the cpu

well the overall performance increase is good with that upgrade during the 800mhz deifferent between the stock cpu and t9600 if you can get cheap that will be a nice deal last time i cheacked it was around 80-120$ wich pretty high price for a non future proof upgrade I was thinking the same but ended selling my G51 for a nice price and add few hundred buks and bought a refurb G73JH and its working like a charm no wear or scratches or any problems at all for 760$ its the best deal>
if you can just sell it for a resonable price around 350-400$ and can save another 350$ upgrading to a better laptop is your best bet and the performance boost is huge between the G51vx and the G73JH:

if you will upgrade the cpu and ram that will be around 150$
and max ram you can get is 8GB
and you can also fit an Intel 8435 cpu that fitted in mac's that will give you the performance of a X9100 exreame cpu wil less than half price but you should expect more heat so repasting cpu and gpu with IC Diamond 7 will be a good step.

yes you can buy them fro ebay around 75-85$ and undervoliting the GPU will make it run way cooler also you have to consider repasting the GPU with a decent thermal compound UV will give up to 10c lower and repasting depend on how good is the thermal compound and the repasting method you will get around 5c lower cooler will also help alot and zalman nc1000 is nice i recommend notepal u2 link in amazon.com
this is a link for the cpu ebay link
