g53 refresh

Does asus plan on refreshing this model? new CPU and GPU? if so what cards are they looking at?

 

G53SW will have i7-2630QM but still the same GTX460M GPU, Also the RAM should be 8GB instead of 6GB.

 

Any idea on timeframe this might be available with the whole sandybridge recall and all.

 

Will the new G53 have the same screen (AUO15ED)?

 

i really wish asus would go back to the ATI cards....
has anyone seen that new MSI GT780... damn it looks sexy. supposed to be getting the gtx 560 i think. but of course u know with msi it will be 1 year before we see that.

How much is it supposed to cost? If less than what I paid for the R3, I am seriously gonna consider exchanging it (Asus has better warranty).

Yeah, well that my opinion. Maybe it will be around $1500+. Because the G53JW is still at $1445.

 

Man, that's expensive. Remember, this is my first Dell aka AW computer, so I'm gonna give it a chance. If it doesn't exceed my expectations (I'm coming from a 1990s Compaq and a 2007 HP), then it's going back. I was very impressed with the build quality of the G73, so Asus has a special place in my heart

 

When is the GTX 560M going to come out? The GTX 460M has been out for a while already and I plan on waiting till the GTX 560M which should possible come out maybe a month or two. I kind of prefer Nvidia over AMD. Also I hope they rebuild the look of the G series and add a touch panel to change the sound and other stuff.

 

Is the 5xx series going to have Optimus?

 

I know. It runs quietly. I'm sure you would be happy with your r3 man. If not, Ill trade your r3 for a g53sw. LOL.

It would be the basic g53sw. 2630m, gtx460, 1tb, 8gb ram. + mouse,backpack. That's the A1 model.

 

Don't forget 2 year warranty or watever it is. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

 

+ the 1 year accidental warranty! LOL. Those are the things that wants me to get the g73/53. Cause I live in the Philippines, and now I'm worried if if something goes wrong if i get the r3. I don't think the dell warranty applies here.

 

Yah. I think they might have international warranty though. You'd have to transfer or purchase it though, if we miraculously maek a trade (or you buy one from Dell)

 

I hope they do have support in the Phil. 4 more weeks and im flying to ca. I hope the sandy bridge products are released in the market again that time.

Im a Filipino native. But every summer, I spend my time at Oxnard, CA. Where are you from? I bought my g73 at a best buy store at oxnard last year. The g73/g53 are way expensive here in the Philippines, They cost around 25-30% more.

 

I'm from LA. Do you have any relatives here in the US? You should have them buy your unit from xoticpc, cuz there's no tax for CA.
