so i dont think this isnt new but im in a bit of a pinch.. i removed my powerjack a few mins ago and when i looked at the tip, the pin the in my DC socket came loose and stuck inside the power jack when i removed it. ive read about these problems and i never thought it would happen to me. i guess it is as common as i thought. (my laptop is efff'ed if i cant get this fixed . . T_T )

the problem is im from the philippines and there are NOOO asus support centres near my area. NADA. i cant send it back to the US cuz it would cost me a almost a quarter of what i paid for the laptop.

so im planning to tackle this on my own(and learn something while im at it)

i need ideas. anybody got any? like replacement parts or the part number of this dc jack. or tell me other laptops that have the same dc socket like this so i can find some and replace mine.

But I wouldn't trust them to do a good job, just like I wouldn't trust Asus India service centres to do a good job. They hardly know about this laptop here. :( sigh

yeah i feel the same way. im not risking it with asus philippines.

from what ive seen on some research ive done, soldering a new dc socket would be a fairly easy task.

ive bought the pin and im waiting for it to arrive. i did some DIY stuff just to get it to work till the pin arrives.

forr those interested i think this is the pin replacement for the G53jw models.
