Hello guys,
Something weird is happening to my laptop, but the most important at the moment is the screen. The problem is that I cannot clearly see what its showing. Its too bright, no contrast.I thought that there is no way to save the screen. However, when I press power button, and right before it goes to standby mode, just for a second, it shows everything as it should normally be. Please take a look at this video, you will get an idea of what is happening.
It might look like the cause are video drivers, but it's not, as I get the same problem in BIOS (i.e. cant see much) View attachment 95321 View attachment 95323
So, what I've done so far:
1. disassembled the screen.
2. installed lasest drivers as well as original drivers (that came with laptop) just to make sure that its not the case. as the result, obviously no change.
3. attached the laptop to external TV, to make sure it not graphic card. result- no problems with it.
I don't know what else to do.![]()
I would really appreciate if someone could help me out.

Perhaps your LCD going bad or it could still be your graphic card.
Just because other display ports are working doesn't mean the connector between your graphic card and the LCD monitor is also working properly.
Why don't you send it to a shop and have tech take a look at it? -
It's your LCD. Your going to need a replacement.

Thanks for your replies!
Just to make sure, the fact that there is a moment when the screen shows everything normal doesn't mean anything (do I understand this right?) and its still the screen causing this?
and one more question - if I replace the screen, will I retain 3D functionality? this is the one Im looking at ASUS G53JW-3DE 3D 3D 15.6" HD LED GLOSSY LAPTOP SCREEN | eBay
Seller says it will be the same as the original, is that true? -
Yes it's the LCD. I've seen it several times lately. They'll have moments of normalness but start showing like yours does.
Seems like that screen should work. The only way to be 100% sure you get the same screen is pull yours out and get the model number off the back of it. Then track down and order the exact model LCD. -
Thank you very much!

last question guys,
do you know whether keyboards from G53 and G73 models are identical or not? I've got a broken key on my keyboard, so thinking of replacing it, but could find only G73-keyboards so far.
From ebay images, they look the same, but still not sure if it will fit my laptop. -
If you can take some measurements of your keyboard, I'll compare them to a G73 Keyboard. I have a couple extra's that I can take some measurements on.

Thanks for your help, really.
I've been busy ,so could find time get this done.
So finally, I have bought the screen above, and it works, however, I get NO 3D support... In the Nvidia Control panel I dont have the 3D options I would normally have (and 3D setup wizard also wouldnt run, saying that tis panel doesn't support 3D vision) .
I have tried to put back my old screen... and... 3D works... Now it makes me think that this new screen doesnt support 3D? I have sent my old screen's part number along with other info about the laptop, and the seller confirmed that everything will work fine.
I know I should contact the seller, but the question is - is there anything I could do before I send the screen back? are there any ways to make sure that the screen supports/doesnt support 3D?
any help from you guys would be so much appreciated -
btw, here are some details:

ASUS G53JW 3D 15.6" HD LED GLOSSY LAPTOP SCREEN | eBay
