I have a new gaming laptop meant for games.

    It has the gtx260m @620/1500/1000
    cpu is at 2.88ghz c2d

    I cannot run these games

    Gta IV:LFLC
    Metro 2033
    Arma operation flash point
    Crysis and Crysis warhead
    Just Cause 2

at max settings, I get 20 fps average with all of them at MAX settings cept GTA IV with its crazy low 12 fps

    2 questions

why do new games like COD:wm2 run at 90 fps maxed
and new games like metro 2033 run at 20 fps maxed..

    makes no sense

And why would a year old gaming laptop struggle with a year old game like GTA:IV

my vantage score at 1440x900 is 5600-5700 (gtx 285m range)

should I wait 2 years till the mobility 7800 series is out and buy a new laptop, or are gaming laptops obsolete the second they arrive?

I have read alot about the mobility hd 5870, and If i was to upgrade to the G73 I would have to play at 1920x1080(native) to get similar Image quality, but slightly less performance due to the higher resolution.

should I wait..and If so.. how long would you wait..

those are all pretty demanding games you are trying to play with the exception of just cause 2, which is playable if you get the settings set up correctly. I also have a 260m. Metro 2033 should be playable at medium settings.
