I doubt you can run more than two because of card and port limitations but im curious if you could run 1 monitor off VGA and the other off HDMI simultaneously?

Would love 3 monitors but that looks like its only supported by ATI cards with eyefinity and you need a display port.

On the JH you can duplicate or have 2 externals and the laptop screen. Laptop + VGA + HDMI

I generally have my games running on my laptop screen while watching a movie on my external TV and the internet on my 21 incher.

You can have the VGA and HDMI running at the same time as well yes.

ATI cards including the 5870m can use Eyefinity which can enable upto 6 screens but the mobo on the G73 does not have the outputs to be able to do this.

I believe the 460 GTX can only handle 2 though someone will need to confirm this.

Dallers, thx for the info... ATI cards that support infinity need a mini display port in order to drive more than 2 displays... so far the only machines ive found that meet that requirement are the alienware 17x and the HP envy.

Great to know that the JH can drive two displays simultaneously though... now if the 460m is as flexible I'll be in business. lol.

From past Nvidia experience I believe you can only run one external output with the laptop screen or 2 without it. Although it might have changed since the mighty 8 series :D

    hey man,

how did you manage to have both HDMI and VGA running at the same time and have the laptop monitor running too ?

I had to disable one of them to make it work ?

    cheers

I would also be very interested in how Dallers was able to get three screen outputs with the G73JH. I have connected two external monitors via the VGA and HDMI in the past but was only able to drive two screens at once (Laptop built-in display + 1 external OR two externals), never all three screens. CCC and Windows both forcibly disable one of the the screens when you try to enable another. Would be cool if somehow it were possible to do all three.

My apologies to burst your bubbles I must have been half asleep and/or drunk when I wrote this because I forgot im using a HDMI splitter and splitting over 2 screens along with using my laptop not the VGA meaning 3 in total but only 2 actual screen settings.

Eyefinity can run upto 6 screens so the capability is there just the outputs are not if anyone finds out how this can be done I would be interested to know as I would happily fork out for 6 screens for my flat :D

I ran two monitors in addition to my lcd on the laptop, one out of the VGA and one out of the USB using an adapter that was @ work.. the resolution on the usb adapter was like 1600x900 but overall it was good.
