hi everyone, just bought a g73 this week.
i was surprised to find more than two harddrives. Whats the best way to reconfigure them to only show 2 of them?
thanks in advance

Use Disk Manager to remove the 2 extra partitions, and then apply the free space to the first ones.

ok, any tutorials / step by step online on how to do this?
...or am i the only person who has a g73 with 4 hard drives? -
My G73 has 4 hard drives!
But I configured my G73 that way. In fact you have 4 logical drives and 2 physical hdds. You can easily reconfigure your system in Computer Management, under Disk management. This will show you your physical drives, and the partitions that have been created to give you your logical drives.
Configuring the drives partitions is important and should be guided by a thorough understanding of exactly what each partition is needed for, (or why it is not needed.) It should not be done just so that 2 drives show instead of 4.
Example: Windows backup needs a partition to store its backups. Therefore if you plan to use Windows image and file backups (which is a good idea) then you will need at least 3 drives. I would recommend that you have the main drive (C: drive) which contains your Windows installation be kept separate from your (D: drive) which would hold your data, photos etc. The (E: drive) might be your backup partition, and you might want to keep an empty (F: drive) for future expansion, either as a separate partition, or for space to expand another partition. Or you might want to keep all of your encrypted files on that partition etc. etc. But as you can see, there are many good reasons to have different logical drives on one physical drive.
g73 : how to show only two harddrives? which one for programs/storage?
