I'm curious because I was just looking it up on xotic pc and there isn't a "None" option for the secondary hard drive. Since I plan on getting a SSD for my next computer this concerns me with the whole TRIM not working in raid. Is this going to be a problem?

The G73 series doesn't have a RAID controller so you won't be able to run RAID. Though there are software RAID programs which you can use, but they are not as effective as hardware RAID.

I think one justification Asus had is that RAID0 is now losing its relevancy. With the introduction of SSD's, the new "ultimate setup" is a single super fast SSD drive, paired with a large platter HD for storage.

I'd agree if Asus included a Sata III controler. at present with SATA II a Raid0 HDD is still a viable option, especially considering the costs of a high end SSD. If high speed SSD's were main stream and price competative with HDD's it would be a different story as well.
