Ok so I just ran 06 and scored first with twin turbo on and got around 12100, weird, and then with twin turbo off and scored

    3DMark Score 12457
    SM 2.0 Score 5109
    SM 3.0 Score 5970
    CPU Score 3176

I have seen others on these forums using the same system and scoring higher than me? I am running catalyst 10.5. Is there something wrong with my system???

    Please any help.

Thats completly normal scores in 3Dmark06 for this laptop. Your laptop is fine. Maybe you've seen results on overclocked machines in this forum.

As it has been said a few times already on this forum. These scores are pretty average for a stock G73JH.

The top scores presented in the "G73 benchmark" thread were all made with overclocked systems.

You have nothing to worry about, your G73JH is working fine

Also 1 other thing. How come I scored higher scores with twin turbo turned off?? Does that mean that I will get better performance while playing games??

It all depends on the application. Single threaded apps will show an improvement, but anything, like a video encoder, that can take full advantage of all four cores will show a decrease in performance.

As I mentioned in a different thread and posted here with a slight modification:

Multi-threaded applications work better with it off, not on. When all four cores are under a full load, the higher frequency will cause the multiplier to go lower. Only when all four cores are not under full load will it go higher. So, if you have a video encoder that can take advantage of all four cores, you want it off, not on. Since many things can take advantage of all four cores, Turbo mode becomes rather useless.

My laptop is currently crunching a protein for FAH. The SMP client puts all four cores under a full load. My results are:

8 threads Turbo off is 1.73 GHz (x13)
8 threads Turbo on is 1.70 GHz (x12).

Instead of FAH, but a multi-threaded encoder, the encode would take less time with Turbo off.
