You can't change the multi except if you have an 920/940xm processor.

I guess you're using a program like CPU-Z to monitor the clocks and multis... it's not accurate at all. Get Throttlestop and see whether the multis are still at 7.

somehow they got the multiplier to 20...i just cant figure it out...this program doesnt change anything...
i have same laptop as him, exactly.
I used "set fsb" to raise my fsb..and it raised it some...but i cant figure out how he raised his multiplier...or how to unlock it.

The multipliers are locked on all the CPUs except extreme editions. The reason they have a 20x multi is because all four cores are not being used.

Overclocking is more than just speeds at the top end when there is no load on the CPU. My g73 was able to overclock to 1.92ghz with all cores under load, which is where you should start looking (all cores under load). I only OC'd using the free setFSB method (editing PLL hexadecimal on the diag tab). My personal opinion is that the cleaner your windows install is with less crapware, the higher your realworld turboboost will be stock. I got another 'bin' or two just by cleaning off the asus crap and watching my turboboost with the intel tool. If you aren't hitting your max turbo boosts on the intel tool, you should focus on that first, then overclock, but that's my opinion...
