was playing a game called bloodline champions and caused my computer to fully shut off right at the end of a game.
it went to my desktop and flashed one of those error dialogs with the red circle + white X, but it immediately went to black
here is the error on the event log:

i got hwinfo.32 and furmark and got these numbers, they seem pretty bad:
CPU:
min 65
max 86
GPU:
min 72
max 103

from the looks of it, your gpu & cpu is running hot I would clean out your vents and if it still stays at those temps do a RMA if your have warranty... if not then look into doing a TIM repaste on both the gpu and cpu should do the trick
-
CPU is a bit hot, but nothing to alarming, i'd say you have dusty vents just by that. GPU temp is indicated by furmark or is it diode or memIO temp from HWiNFO32? Regardless it is high but if it's the memIO temp dusting it should do the trick, if it's the core temp (TS0 (dispIO) in HWiNFO32) then there's a good chance you may need a repaste.
-
If I'm not mistaken regsvr32.exe controls the registration of Codecs, DLLs and such. Did it reboot when a cutscene was about to be played? Seems more like a software issue that caused the BSOD.

i re-did it, ran furmark 1080. when it got to 100% here were the numbers:
Min range of all 4 CPU: 63
Max range of all 4 CPU: 88-94
Current (idle for 30 min): 66-69
GPU Diode: 46-105, 75 idle
GPU DispIO: 45-99, 75 idle
GPU MemIO: 45-105, 76 idle
GPU Shader: 44-105, 75 idle
GPU Fan: 30-100%
Utilization: 0-100%
got some questions:
should I enable powerplay in CCC?
should I enable catalyst AI in CCC?
any other settings in CCC significant for temps?
do I need to get any computer product besides ICD7 to repaste? -
It was a BSOD, so its not a heat issue.

well it just shut off after a half-second long windows error popup, i never saw a bluescreen
-
I suggest a repaste with those numbers. ICD7 is the noob-proof solution

can i access the fans with canned air without removing the motherboard? or can you just blow air through the vents in the back (into the system)?
-
I pretty much do it like in this video: YouTube - G73 clean out. I block the fans (to prevent them from spinning too fast) with a small needle and blow right into the heatsinks though.
When i disassembled it to repaste, there was almost no dust in my laptop. -

so if i only remove the bottom panel like in the video, i might be able to reduce some of the heat just with air while waiting for my paste to arrive? assuming i havent ever cleaned the inside of it in about 8 months (and no idea about how much it was cleaned or used by the reseller), could it possibly have a big effect on temperature?
i just took apart today my older toshiba qosmio x305 to make sure i could put it back together, and it actually seemed a lot more complicated than the g73 looks in the btotech video.
it turned back on but at boot up, it said windows may be damaged and asked if i wanted to run repair or start windows normally. i started normally and it worked. is that a normal reaction to having the HD re-seated or did i mess it up? -
g73 random shutdown
