    g73jh (best buy) dead video
Long story short, laptop had a large amount of gatorade spilled on it and wouldn't boot. Tore it down and discovered a fried chip on the mobo. Replaced the mobo and now it boots but i have no video (on screen or through either external adapters) it turns on hard drive makes sound keyboard lights up right away then goes off and after about 30 seconds both fans kick on full speed. No sound from speakers or beeps from the Mobo.
It now at least turns on so one problem solved. Before i drop another $300. does this sound like a for sure dead video card?

tried reset button and removing battery on mobo as well as holding power for 60 seconds. No luck
And for what its worth optical drive appears to be working and caps and num lock are responsive

I assume you have cleaned top to bottom? I mean from the videos not an easy task. The notebook is built from the top not bottom. If you have really done all that and even blow dried not really looking good. Those GPU's had issues even without Gatorade added.

Excess moisture well dissapate/evaporate with time. Placing a strong fan on it while it is open will help.

You are in a Jam and I am not going to pretend to be some expert on the hardware but on the drying I will pretend.

    Patience Grasshopper.

    Good luck.

Just had one in at work that had water spilled on it that didn't post because the touch pad was bad because of the spill. Try unplugging any unnecessary hardware (touch pad, kb, lcd cable, etc) at and powering it on plugged into an external monitor

Having other items prevent post is really common after a spill.

So then that would leave you with ram, cpu, or motherboard being bad. If you have a spare cpu try that, and try the ram one stick at a time in each slot.

The gpu isn't mxm in that laptop is it?

the reason i believe it is the GPU is because even with bad ram or even cpu i would still get the splash screen on the laptops screen or through hdmi/vga

With bad ram you would either get a beep code, blinking light code or a blank screen. Bad ram will not pass post.

The thing is, bad ram or cpu can both prevent post and prevent any diagnostic beep codes. I see it literally every day. I would spend the couple minutes and make sure it's not either of those. I'm not saying it is definitely one of those but those are both super easy to rule out. Is the gpu a proprietary pcb size? A local shop might let you borrow one for testing. I do that for customers all the time.

The GPU is a proprietary size. You can get the GPU cards from some ebay retailers, or you can send the unit in for OOW repair.
