So, as some fo you are no doubt aware of, Battlefield 3 does not play nicely with realtek sound cards.... Thus, in an attempt to make the game not crash wver 2-5 min, i bought a creative x-fi go pro.

The big thing is though.. No matter what i do, i cannot get the sounds to play via laptop's speakers. If i plug in headphones (regardless of what position the switch is), i get sound there, but no combination of settings, or driver reinstalls will get the sound working via the speakers.

So, short of returning it, is there something i am missing? I really have tried everything i can think of.. Uninstalled the onboard, disabled it in windows (no option to diable via bios), left the onboard alone...

On a side note.. Any reason there is no option to disable onboard sound in the bios?

Usually onboard sound cannot be disabled in the BIOS. You would have to disable it in device manager or just choose a different default output device.

As for your question about the x-fi go not using the internal speakers, since nobody has replied here, you might want to ask that at Creative Support Forum

It's probably because of the fact that the internal speakers are in no way connected to the usb soundcard. :)
