    Hi Guys,
    I have a two year old g73jh-a1.
I opened it up and replaced gpu cpu paste and cleaned up the fan (which I recommend you guys do it too since it was filthy)
I showed great care while putting it back together (though I don't remember if it happened due to this)
And the laptop sit off the ac for like 2-3 weeks.
and when I turned it on, I realized it didn't have any power.
I plugged it in, and it says charging for like 2 mins and then windows says consider replacing battery etc.
and after a long time, battery indicator starts blinking orange rather than staying.
    my questions is,

is it the battery that died on me, which the battery was fully charging but lasting not more than 1 hr.

    or

something that i messed up when i put it back together, note: disassembled and reassembled again and nothing changed.

yes your battery is dead , in my toshiba the battery charges no more than 30% after its charged 30% battey indicator light goes off then I have to reinsert the battery to get charge light again but it goes after a while.
you have to replace battery and when you are using laptop for a long time connected to ac then battey dies so if your using it for long time please remove battery.

The battery could be dead or the controller on the battery or on the laptop might be going bonkers. Try using the reset button on your computer to reset the EC on the laptop. Also, you could try to put the battery in, drain it completely and then charge it again to see if it charges normally.

2 years is about what laptop batteries last, unless you take extremely good care of them.

Now just take this as a lesson before you even begin to think about buying an expensive gadget that doesn't have a user replaceable battery.
