I have sent in a ticket to Asus but have not heard back 48 hours later and so am looking for some help elsewhere.

I have a brand new Asus G750JX. This machine, like many many other Asus machines (apparently) has a sound glitch where the speakers crackle when making sound. For me, the crackle comes from the left speaker.

I ensured I had the most up to date driver. I have also muted the microphone. No change.

Would anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

It looks like many Asus machines have this problem as I can find many many google pages about this going back 5+ year, but few users can figure out how to solve it... so why doesn't Asus have a trouble shooting guide?

    Thoughts?

Thanks for the help. I do appreciate it.

UPDATE: Turns out it was a FAULTY POWER BRICK!

I tried everything I could think of reinstalling everything from the drivers to the operating system. I scoured the internet for possible solutions.

I found 1 post on a Dell site from a few years ago where someone mentioned that faulty power bricks can produce "noise" that the speaker picks up. After 2 days and multiple interactions with Asus support, I tried unplugging the power brick while I had a music video run on youtube and *bam* instant fix to the problem.

Everything is still under warranty to Asus is sending me a new brick.

I have seen many posts dating back to 2006 regarding this issue. I bet more than a few had my problem and just did not know.

So if your Asus speakers sound like a shot wave radio try unplugging the power before you do anything else. Us gamers may not think to do that as these machines have a short battery charge.

    Hopefully this helps someone...
