I love everything about G73 but gaming is not my first priority. what i want in a G73 is a good bright screen and i understand the 1080 is geared for games and not no much appearance. will someone please suggest something[G73 model] that will fit my bill. money is not a big factor.
    thanks

Actually 1080 is geared for movies/photos/everything else, as in games it's a rather atypical resolution. Nontheless it's marvelous to game on such a high resolution.
I would recommend the latest/upcoming model G73SW as it features one of the latest CPUs by Intel - SandyBridge architecture - that are said and proven to blow away all current Arrandale cpus. It is available to preorder on some sites with availability starting from 13th of Jan.
If you are located in Europe, some of these sites ship in europe aswell at reasonable prices. I myself have ordered one and am dying to receive it.

Regarding price, it's priced around the same as the former JW series - the only difference between them being the chipset+cpu.

Should you want something smaller, you can consider also the G53 version. The SW version is not to be released till 1 - 2 months later but if you don't fancy having the latest cpu in it, you can buy the JW version fully loaded from a much broader range of shops/online shops.

The main differences in g53 and g73 are just a few inches in thickness and width, with the g73 being a little fattier. :p . Configuration wise they can both house the same parts.

    Hope this helps!

yea, the g73 screen is amazing for everything.

If its just money ur concerned over, I suggest THIS one.

its the g73 minus 500gb of hardrive space minus the 5870 to gtx 260m which is still very fast. Here is a comparison of the 2 cards. The 260 is maybe.... 5-10% weaker I guess but still enables u to get high frame rates in games. But since u said u don't care much for gaming, this switch between cards shouldn't even be a big deal + its still strong.

minus 2 gigs of ram so from 8 to 6. My guess Is u can buy this from powernoteboosk, genteck, and excalibur maybe (haven't checked) but they should all have the same price.

this is the cheapest g73 out atm without degrading any hardware.

a while ago, best buy lowered the resolution to 900p I think (1600) and that lowered the price even more.
