Hi, like i said in the title i own a G51j 3d and although i have a custom backplate lately i've been feeling and constatating through hwmonitor that it's time to repaste its gpu and cpu and of course time to give it a more thorough cleanup..
My doubts are:
1 what thermal paste should i aply to both gpu and cpu

I replied to your other thread and you will be given numerous answers to this question. I have tested so many and after being advised of PK-1 ThermalTech I have not returned to ICD but it is not as thick and easy to apply and in the UK it is not cheap either but I get the best temps I have ever seen.
I would always recommend ICD or Shin Etsu from past experience with Asus models. Again compounds such as Arctic Silver or MX4 will achieve the same results, ICD remains the thickest and easiest to apply but the worst to remove and it will stain your copper because of the diamond content.
Most will recommend a thick TIM because of its ease to apply which is the blob or the pea method, quick and simple just bang a blob dead centre of the DIE and reseat the heatsink.
You wont have thermal pads for the CPU itself but the GPU ones as long as you dont break/mark/foul the pad itself can just be reused and placed back over the VRAM, if it is an Nvidia model I think that came with a conducting paste as standard so you may need to apply a blob of compound on each module instead if that is the case.
Clean everything thoroughly with alcoholic swabs before repasting.
