    anybody know how to get out of hibernation with g73jh, when i close my lid then open it up again it just shuts down the laptop compltely, then i have to turn it on with the power button and it "resumes" windows is this normal???

    Yes that is how mine works also. This sounds normal to me. If I leave the machine for less than 15 minutes, I normally use sleep, and shutdown when I am done for the 'day'. Good luck with your system

    u have to change ur power settings in windows on what to do when u press power button or close lid.

    I believe any key would work. Just hit the space bar after opening the lid. I think its meant to stay off until you hit a key.

    downloaded the patch when i try install it says the update is not applicable to your computer?

    thats strange, you downloaded the x64 right? and you have win 7 64 bit correct? It should work then....

    edit - o wait, I'm sorry. there isn't any need for you to install this. I re-read the first post and what you are experiencing is normal. when you close your lid, your screen turn black, then you open it up, and press the power button to resume windows.

    yea, thats normal. Also, I suggest you keep it like that. dont' change it to where it doesn't hybernate or sleep. If you set it to not do anything when the lid closes, it could be risky if you keep it closed too long as air is sucked in from your keyboard area. you don't want it to overheat.
