    Hi

my system is g51vx rx05 gtx 260m , with cpu upgrade t9600 duo 2.8 ghz

I have noticed an increase in my max gpu temp, it used to be 93-94 and now it has reached all the way up to 97.

the temp was originally 108 and I discovered that whoever refurbished my laptop used a thermal pad on my gpu instead of thermal paste, i have removed it and pasted it with ac5 and it dropped down to 93-94.

what could be the cost of increase in max temp? could it be the dust in the heat sink? or could it be gpu failure or something?

I have not done the g51vx cooling mod, but other than that what are things I can do to reduce the max gpu/cpu temp?

    thank you very much.

Thermal paste is probably old. dissasemble and apply ic diamond 7: trust me it is the BEST because it is thicker and is better for the heatsink that your laptop has. i recomend is to order ic diamond 7 and a big can of compressed air, and dissamble everything and blow out the dust from inside the fans,m and reapply thermal paste on both cpu/gpu. or take it to a tech if your scared.
High temps: Death for your machine, so act fast.

Just clean the heatsinks, if you already repasted, either you have dusty heatsinks or you did a poor repasting job. If you feel like repasting, you can do it again with any good paste, be mindful of the amount of paste you use.

see that's what I have in mind , because after pasting i had 93-94 max temp. And I REALLY doubt that the paste would get old 3 weeks after repasting. I think it's just the dust in heat sink / fan.

    thanks!
