I ran Company of Heroes with no anti and no ultra but everything on high. In the beginning of the game it runs cool but as game progresses it becomes incredibly slow and seems like it even goes down to 1 digit frame rate. I was wondering if this was normal. I tried lowest setting with 1920*1080 resolution but couldn't get a set 60 frame rate. I am using 11.9 catalyst. Is there something wrong?

Run HWinfo sensors and check your temps while gaming. It sounds as though you are throttling and could be running over 100oC.

P.s To all good to be back on the forum after a lonnnnng downtime :(

? is that at Idle? If so that is very high.

If that is at load then that is very low for the ATI 5870M card even with all my mods to my heatsink mine goes above 70oC so I would recommend you recheck the temps again using the Hwinfo Sensors and check each section of the GPU Mem(IO), Diode, Shaders, Disp at Idle and Load. Also check your CPU temps and make sure that both Fans are showing up as below:

Those temps are too low as I just said have you checked the entire board using Hwinfo? Read my post above before replying. If you can post a screenshot as I have above!

If those really are your temps I would think you are not running in High performance mode or you have P4G not set to performance because your temps should be higher especially when playing GTA 4 that game owns. Also make sure your not running on Battery.

wow..lol I just checked my p4g and my performance was at quiet office. Never knew this thing really mattered. After changing it to high performance mode it works like a charm lol Thank you for the comment.

:) thought those temps were too low. Even so might be a good idea to check them anyway and if they are quite high think about cleaning out the vents with some compressed air its always a good idea to keep it running dust free.

    Happy gaming!

If you are below the 90's you dont really need to worry bout it but if you want to clean it just get some compressed air and blast it a few times in the rear vents to shift any dust. Only short sharp blasts of air to not damage the fans.
